School Student Programme (Ages 14-16)

February 2019 saw the launch of our first structured Work Experience programme for secondary school students, accommodating individuals aged 14 to 16 from schools within the Dudley borough. Programmes run between: 25th February to 1st March, 1st to 5th July and the 15th to 19th July.

Our Partner schools in 2019 are as follows:

  • Pegasus Academy
  • Ellowes Hall Sports College
  • Haybridge High School
  • The Wordsley School
  • The Kingswinford School
  • Windsor High School
  • The Earls High School

We work closely with schools within the Dudley borough and each participating school will be given an allocated amount of placements.

We only accept applications from students from participating schools.

If you are a student from one our partner schools and would like to apply for a work experience placement, you will need to contact your careers advisor/placement coordinator.  Please note that placements for all 2019 programmes are now fully booked.

We offer a range of opportunities that includes the following programmes:

General Nursing Programme: Ideal for those interested in a career in Nursing, Allied Professional, or other Clinical roles, this one-week programme allows you to work alongside clinical staff in a range of inpatient, outpatient, and specialist areas across our main Russells Hall Hospital site.

NHS Corporate Programme: Our non-patient facing roles help ensures all services and functions within a busy NHS Trust function effectively. This one-week programme will allow you to gain insight into corporate fields such as Finance, Human Resources etc.

Combined Healthcare Programme (Clinical and Non-Clinical): For those wanting to gain experience of both clinical and non-clinical areas.

Other Programmes Available: We also presently offer placements in our Renal department and our Orthodontics department.
