Letter to a loved one

During this very difficult time we have a dedicated ‘Family Support Service’ that aims to help you stay in touch with your relative during their inpatient stay. You can send a letter, message or photo in the hope to brighten your loved ones day to the below details.

How does this work?

To send a letter, photo or messages to a loved one please email dgft.patientexperience@nhs.net with your message, please remember to include the full name of the patient along with their date of birth and the ward (if known). This helps ensure that your message is delivered correctly.

Your letters and photos will then be printed out and delivered to them.

What If I don’t have email?

If you don’t have an email account or access to email, don’t worry you can telephone the Family Support Service team on 0800 073 0510 or 01384 456111 ext. 3420 who are happy to take your message over the phone. Please let us know what you would like to send, this will be printed out as a letter and delivered in the same way.
