In accordance with the NHS Code of Accountability, Trust Board members are required to declare interests which are relevant and material to the NHS Board of which they are a member. The Trust’s Conduct Policy requires interests and the receipt of, or offering of gifts, hospitality or sponsorship to be declared to the Risk and Standards Team within the Corporate Governance team.

Trust Board members shall declare their relevant and material interests on appointment, together with the relevant and material interests of their spouse. In this case, “spouse” is defined as any person who lives with another person in the same household.

Any changes in interests must be declared in writing to the Risk and Standards Team within the Corporate Governance team as soon as is practicable. Changes in interests shall be officially declared at the next Trust Board meeting following the change occurring and recorded in the minutes.

If a Trust Board member has a doubt about the relevance or materiality of any interest, this should be discussed with the Board Secretary.
