Orthopaedic Assessment Service (Community)

The orthopaedic assessment service provides specialist assessment and advice to patients on management of musculo-skeletal problems.

The service is run by orthopaedic practitioners (specialised physiotherapists) who can offer expert advice, injection therapy, referral to other agencies eg physiotherapy, biomechanics, hydrotherapy, spinal exercise class and consultants as appropriate.

Access to the service is either via GP referral or by referral from a physiotherapist employed on behalf of Dudley PCT. Patients must be aged 16 or over and have musculo-skeletal problems which have not responded to initial GP/Physiotherapy Management.

Rheumatological conditions are not managed by this service.

Clinic times

Clinics are available for morning and afternoon sessions Monday to Thursday and Friday mornings. Depending on the patient’s condition, clinics are run at various health centres across the Dudley borough.
