Community Musculoskeletal Assessment and Physiotherapy Service (CMAPS)

About CMAPS:

The CMAPS service provides physiotherapy care to patients across Dudley who have either developed or are managing a musculoskeletal condition such as osteoarthritis, back pain, injuries sustained after an accident, work related conditions & sporting injuries.  The service consists of three strands that are explained in the graphic below.  The service aim is to ensure that anyone with a musculoskeletal complaint can access the right clinician at the earliest point in their journey and is then subsequently supported within the service in a timely manner.  The service prides itself on embracing innovative practice & technology to delivering high quality care within an environment that is accessible for individual patient needs.

How to access the service:

For First Contact Physiotherapy please call your own GP booking line and ask the care navigator if you can see their First Contact Physiotherapist.

Otherwise speak to your GP and they can refer you in to CMAPS directly.

For any enquires  please contact our administrative team on 01385 321605.

Changes due to Covid pandemic:

For all first-time appointments, the service is currently using video or telephone to help access the need for face-to-face appointments.  This is to keep our patients and clinicians safe during this pandemic.  We are currently not offering acupuncture or injections.

For more information on video appointments used within the Trust please visit our Attend Anywhere page.
