The Dudley Group NHS Charity launched their Easter egg appeal in February across Russells Hall Hospital, Corbett and Guest outpatient centres and community sites for patients to enjoy a chocolate treat during the Easter period.
Thank you to the generosity of organisations like: Tipton & Coseley Building Society, Priory Primary School, CuSack Bilston, HSBC Bank, Dudley College and many other local companies and members of the community for their wonderful contributions. The charity has been overwhelmed by the appeals’ success with over 1,450 Easter eggs donated.
Lauren Sidaway, acting lead nurse on Ward C4 at Russells Hall Hospital said “It was lovely to receive the Easter egg donations. They really brightened up the patients’ Easter when having to spend it in hospital. The patients were very grateful and commented on how kind it was that the eggs had been donated for them to enjoy.”
Emma Gibbons, Tipton & Coseley Building Society’s interim marketing lead, added: “This is the second successive year we’ve collected Easter eggs on behalf of Dudley Group NHS Charity and it’s fantastic that so many colleagues at our head office and four local branches wanted to make donations. It was a pleasure to visit Russells Hall Hospital and find out exactly where the eggs will be distributed, hopefully raising a few smiles along the way.”
Nithee Patel, head of fundraising for the charity, said “I am overwhelmed with the amount of support for the appeal, thank you to everyone who donated.”
