The Dudley Group NHS Charity’s flagship Glitter Ball event is back for its fifth year.

The business gala dinner brings together local businesses for an evening of networking and fundraising. This year’s Glitter Ball will be taking place on 25th September at the Copthorne Hotel in Brierley Hill, Dudley.

The event is held to raise funds for a particular appeal. Last year’s event raised over £17,500 from sponsorship and table packages for the dementia appeal, as well as from the generosity of the attendees who bought tickets for raffle and auction prizes.

This year’s event will be raising vital funds for the charity’s cancer appeal. The focus is to help provide support to patients and their loved ones affected by cancer. Guests will be treated to welcome drinks, a luxury two course meal, and evening entertainment.

The evening will feature a patient and a fundraiser speaker, who will be sharing their cancer and fundraising journeys, and why it is vital to donate to local causes to improve patients’ experiences.

Diane Wake, chief executive of The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust, said: “Meeting local businesses at the Glitter Ball is a brilliant opportunity to share stories and strengthen our relationships within the local community. We have been overwhelmed by the amazing support that has been showcased over the past five years, further cementing the wonderful work of our charity.”

Halesowen College is the platinum sponsor for the event, Dudley College of Technology is the gold sponsor alongside Summit Healthcare and How to Find a Care Home as silver sponsors and Trustmarque as the drinks sponsor.

Other local businesses attending the evening with table packages include Jackwolf Group, Lawrence Cleaning, Wolverhampton Porche, and Waldrons.

Jacquie Carman, Principal and Chief Executive of Halesowen College, said “Halesowen College is delighted to be the key sponsor for the Dudley Group NHS Charity Glitter Ball, now in its fifth year. This event is a great platform that, for one night, will bring local businesses together to raise vital funds for the charity’s cancer appeal and celebrate Trust staff who support patients, and their families across our community.”

The charity is thrilled to announce that the fabulous Ellis Ward will be hosting the event. From being part of the west end musical “42nd Street” and the game show “You Bet!” to 25 years of live TV presenting, Ellis is set to bring glamour, energy and sparkle to the big night.

The charity is looking for local businesses to support the event through sponsorship opportunities or purchasing table packages for the glamorous evening. There are standard tables packages and individual tickets available to purchase.

They would also greatly appreciate auction and raffle prize donations for the event.
