Laura is the Deputy Simulation Lead. She has worked for The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust since 2008, within the fast-paced environment of Theatres. Laura is an Operating Department Practitioner by background, mainly specialising in Anaesthetics and Recovery. Having worked within a multidisciplinary team for many years, Laura developed a keen interest in Human Factors and non-technical skills required to provide safe, effective, and well-led care for our patients, and recognised the value of Simulation Based Education (SBE) to explore these further within a safe learning environment.
Laura’s role involves facilitating simulation sessions for a variety of learners, carrying our debriefing, playing the role of ‘The Plant’ within scenarios along with day-to-day planning and running of the Simulation Centre.
