Visiting restrictions now in place

Visiting restrictions now in place
7th January 2022

Visiting is being restricted with immediate effect to all general wards and departments at Russells Hall Hospital in the light of rising cases of COVID-19 and increasing transmission of the omicron variant.

There will be exceptions for patients receiving end-of-life care and for our most vulnerable patients, for example patients with dementia. We ask that these visits are discussed with the nurse in charge.

Paediatrics, neonatal and maternity will continue to allow parents and partners as per the current arrangement.

Chief executive Diane Wake said, “The decision to restrict visiting has been made to keep patients and staff safe.

“I know this is disappointing news but the increasing cases of COVID-19 across the Dudley borough has left us with no other choice. These arrangements will be reviewed at the end of January.”

PLEASE NOTE: Patients can still receive clothing parcels and arrange for facetime calls with friends and family
