New medicines

The Drug and Therapeutics Committee (hospital only dugs) and the Dudley Area Medicines Management Committee (all other medicines) review new medicines identified by local clinicians and once approved by the group the drugs are added to the formulary.

A New Drug Application form can be accessed by contacting the Pharmacy Department at Russells Hall Hospital.

High Cost Drugs (HCD) Team

The HCD team including two part-time pharmacy technicians, a full time clerical officer supported by a senior pharmacist and the pharmacy procurement team work to maximise drug cost savings from accessing Patient Access Schemes (PAS) and by the increasing the use of Homecare medicines.
