Information support:

Come and see us at our new Information Hub which is situated in main reception:
The Dudley Group of Hospitals, by the volunteer desk and opposite WH Smiths shop.
The Cancer team will be available:

Carers Support: Dudley Carers Hub
Dudley Carers Hub and Wellbeing Service, run by Dudley Council, supports unpaid carers of all ages.
We offer information, advice and a range of support to anyone caring for a family member or friend. Many people who provide care often do not recognise themselves as a carer, and aren’t aware of the support available to them. We aim to empower carers to make informed choices and provide specialist advice and support including:
- Information on financial and legal rights
- Advice on respite services
- Advice on accessing social care and health and wellbeing services
- Emotional support
- A specialist Dudley Young Carers Service
- Support with getting out and about, including social groups and carers groups
- Help with arranging a carers assessment
- Specialist training courses for carers
There are two hubs located at Queens Cross Network in Dudley and Brett Young Centre in Halesowen.

New Adult Social Care Portal
Dudley have launched a new adult social care in Dudley portal. The portal offers information about what’s on, support to keep you independent , as well as what practical or financial help you might be entitled to. There is a sector on “Your needs as a carer” where you can see the latest information and also register as a carer. There is also a section where you can complete a carers self-assessment. Once you submit your form you will receive an automated reply and we will respond to you in a timely manner.

Your clinical team who is looking after you is your first port of call for specialist information about the type of cancer you have been diagnosed with. They will signpost you to a number of organisations who can support you:

If you are in need of urgent assistance, please contact the Samaritans on 116 123, phone your GP or attend the nearest Accident & Emergency Department
You can also speak to your Specialist team or the LWBC team for one to one support if you require professional support.

- The Samaritans: Nationwide charity offering emotional support to anyone in distress or struggling . Available by phone on 116 123 or email jo@samaritans.org (available 24 hours a day, every day)
- Shout: is a free, confidential 24/7 text support service for anyone in the UK who is struggling to cope. To start the conversation, text the word ‘SHOUT’ to 85258
These platforms also help with mindfulness, relaxation and can help you learn some useful self-help tools to manage with the day to day stresses of living with cancer.

Financial Support
Patients can self refer to Macmillan benefits service:
They provide advice and support about financial hardship. They can also support regarding the benefit process.
