Mr Laugharne qualified from the University of Birmingham in 2005. After completing his general orthopaedic training in Birmingham in 2017 he undertook further training in lower limb arthroplasty (hip and knee replacements) at the Avon Orthopaedic Centre in Bristol, concentrating particularly on complex and revision (re-do) hip surgery. He began working as an orthopaedic consultant in 2018 and took up his position at The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust in June 2019.
Mr Laugharne has an interest in hip and knee replacement surgery and uses a range of techniques and implants to best suit the patient.
