The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust is currently treating patients who have tested positive for COVID-19 (coronavirus).
Sadly, we can confirm that 42 patients being cared for at our hospital, and had tested positive for COVID-19, have died. One of those has been announced today.
The patient was in her 70s and had underlying health conditions.
Our thoughts and condolences are with the families and friends of those patients at this very difficult and distressing time.
Corbett Outpatient Centre, which was closed due to a chemical spillage today, will reopen tomorrow, Friday 14th February. Most clinics scheduled for tomorrow are going ahead as planned and patients should attend their appointments as usual. Patients will be notified if this is not the case.
Any patient whose appointment was cancelled today will be contacted and offered an alternative clinic slot.
The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust has welcomed 34 new graduate nurses and another one who is returning to practice. They will now work on hospital wards and across the community after completing their three-year nursing degrees at a variety of universities. Many of the new nurses spent time with the Trust on placement.
