The Dudley Group NHS Charity has announced its 2024 TCS London Marathon charity bond place has been awarded to local runner Emma Tetsill, who will be participating alongside Dudley Group nurse Elizabeth Allen.

Friends for over 12 years, they are both looking forward to joining the 17,000 runners at this iconic race in London on Sunday 21st April.  They will both be raising funds for the Dudley Group NHS Charity, specifically for the Acute Medical Unit (AMU) where Elizabeth works.

The pair have been running together for two years and were thrilled with the news that they would be joining each other at the world-renowned marathon.
Emma said, “This will be the biggest physical challenge we have faced, but we are incredibly excited and ready to push ourselves!”

Elizabeth qualified as a nurse in August 2022 and currently works on the Acute Medical Unit (AMU) at Russells Hall Hospital. Patients are admitted from A&E 24 hours a day, seven days a week onto AMU when they are acutely unwell.

Elizabeth, alongside the other nurses, care support workers, doctors and other healthcare professionals on AMU, treats up to 92 patients at any time with a wide variety of medical conditions. Both Elizabeth and Emma will be fundraising to generate additional funds that can be used to enhance and support patient experience at AMU.
