The Dudley Group NHS Charity has launched its Easter Appeal for patients across The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust, including Russells Hall Hospital, Corbett Outpatient Centre and Guest Outpatient Centre, for the third year running.
This year, the appeal has been expanded beyond Easter eggs to include food hampers, care packages and thoughtful seasonal items to help bring comfort, distraction and moments of joy to patients during their hospital stay. The charity is calling on local businesses, community groups and members of the public across Dudley to support the appeal and help brighten Easter for patients across the Trust.
Diane Wake, Chief Executive of The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust, said: “Our charity plays an important role in enhancing the experience of our patients and the Easter Appeal is a wonderful example of this. The generosity shown by our local communities each year is truly appreciated, and we are grateful for any support people can offer.”
Amy Sargent, Lead Nurse on the Forget Me Not Unit at Russells Hall Hospital, added: “The Easter Appeal brings a real lift to our wards. Whether it’s an Easter treat or something to help pass the time, these donations make a meaningful difference to our patients and their overall experience.”
Janet Moone, a patient on the Forget Me Not Unit, said: “Little things really do mean a lot when you’re in hospital. Receiving an Easter treat puts a smile on your face and helps you feel remembered.”
The Dudley Group NHS Charity supports The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust by enhancing the wellbeing and experience of patients and staff, funding services and facilities that are not routinely funded by the NHS or the Trust.
Whether it’s a single donation or multiple items, all contributions are welcome and will help make Easter special for patients across the Trust. Anyone wishing to support the Easter Appeal can contact the fundraising team at dgft.fundraising@nhs.net.
The closing date for donations is Friday 27th March.
