Hearing tests
We provide hearing tests for both adults and children, with a specialised paediatric service for newborn, preschool and school age children. The department works closely with the British Association of Teachers of the Deaf (BATOD), the Trust’s Ear, Nose and Throat Department (ENT), and other services.
Adult patients must initially be referred via their GP to access the audiology service. If you are already a patient and feel you need another test please contact the department and we can discuss the options with you.
Paediatric patients can be self-referred by a parent or guardian however, this service is only available for children under the age of 18. To make an appointment you will need to ring the department and provide the child’s NHS number; this can be found in the child’s red book (PCHR) or from their registered GP
Please note: all services are by appointment only, with the exception of battery provision.
