Podiatric surgery

The Podiatric Surgery department is a consultant led community-based service primarily dealing with elective foot problems.

Podiatric surgeons are regulated by the Health and Care Professional Council (HCPC) and trained to provide surgical interventions of the foot, specialising in day case surgery and primarily under local anaesthesia.

Referrals are received from GPs, consultants and fellow health professionals by letter or email.

The service is open to anyone with a foot problem. There are theatre restrictions in treating paediatric cases.

How to access the service
Access to the service is available through Choose and Book at Netherton Health Centre, under forefoot surgery or via email at dgft.podiatricsurgery@nhs.net
