Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Pulmonary rehabilitation is a specialist program of tailored exercise and education for people with chronic lung disease. Conditions treated by Dudley’s pulmonary rehabilitation team include chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), bronchiectasis, asthma, pulmonary hypertension and pre or post lung transplant.

The Dudley pulmonary rehabilitation team provides quality pulmonary rehabilitation to people with chronic lung disease. Using our holistic approach, we strive to improve the lives of our patients by helping them better understand and manage their respiratory condition and symptoms through all stages of their journey.

We are an inclusive, caring team who pride themselves on delivering the best patient experience. Working in collaboration with the wider respiratory team and other multi-disciplinary services, we are passionate about continuous service development and improvement, with patient engagement at the heart of this.

The values of the team reflect The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust’s core values of; care, respect and responsibility. These are demonstrated in the way staff interact with and care for patients.

In November 2024, Dudley’s Pulmonary Rehabilitation Team was awarded with the PRSAS (Pulmonary Rehabilitation Services Accreditation Scheme) accreditation status from the Royal College of Physicians. The accreditation is awarded to services who have demonstrate exemplar model and best practice standards, including quality and safety, patient experience and workforce satisfaction.

Locations

We run pulmonary rehabilitation from four different venues across the Dudley borough. For patients unable to travel to a pulmonary rehabilitation venue, virtual pulmonary rehabilitation sessions can also be arranged.
