Here at The Dudley Group we offer a variety of programmes to help expand your learning and develop your career. Take a look at the options below to find out more.

Welcome to Dudley Morning Session – interactive session designed to introduce new starters to the Trust. It is an opportunity to help them network with other new starters, meet some key contacts, learn a bit about Dudley Group and familiarise themselves with the hospital site. The Welcome to Dudley package also includes an online e-learning package and handbook.

Leading People at Dudley – structured guidance and support to new managers joining the Trust. This includes an induction session and reflective booklet which will be provided to identify the essential information they need to know.

Admin Essentials – programme designed for Admin and Clerical Staff to develop and grow. Behind every person providing great care to our patients is a team of administrators keeping everything running smoothly. Includes topics around culture, improvement, understanding others and myself, effective communication.

Communication workshops – we each have a voice that counts, and good communication enables us to support and work well together. We have 3 programmes centred around being brilliant at communication, having difficult conversations and breaking bad news, and honest conversations to resolve conflict.

Introduction to Coaching Skills – two one-day workshops to introduce you to the skills of coaching – listening well, asking coaching questions and helping others to make plans.

Living the Values – support available for teams, to understanding their contribution to the Trust values, get to know each other better as people and improve working relationships.

Fundamental Skills Programme (For Nursing, Midwifery and AHP band 2 staff) – designed to introduce the non-registered support workers to the fundamental elements of patient care in line with the policies and standards, vision, and values of the Trust

Level 2 Diploma in Clinical Healthcare Support (For Nursing, Midwifery and AHP staff) – enable Band 2 staff to develop a portfolio of evidence that will demonstrate work-based competence in accordance with the National Standards for NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or Health awards.

Level 3 Diploma in Clinical Healthcare Support (For Nursing, Midwifery and AHP staff) – development pathway for a HCSW band 3 or wishing to gain this qualification to process to the Band 4 Nursing Associate. AHP staff who do not have a recognised qualification at level 3 can also enrol on this course.

Trainee Nursing Associates (For Nursing and Midwifery staff) – This role sits between that of a health care assistant and a registered nurse with Nursing Associates having a separate entry on the NMC register.

Accessing top up programme to become a Registered Nurse (For Nursing staff who have completed 2-year NA training)

 

Multi Professional Preceptorship/Graduate Programme – enables newly qualified professionals to continue to reflect, discuss and learn during their roles with fellow newly qualified colleagues.

EVOLVE programme – accredited by the Leadership Academy, enhancing leadership skills and knowledge.

Improving/Transforming Professional Practice – our band 5 and 6 development programmes, supported by local universities.

Clinical Supervisor Training – workshop designed to develop skills of clinical supervision.

Professional Advocate (PA) Training  – to prepare Registered staff to achieve the standards and competencies required to successfully undertake the role of the PA.

Deputy Matron Development Programme – designed to help aspiring Matrons achieve the following:

Increase knowledge of the matron role, Improve staff understanding of the strategic direction of the Trust, Facilitate the strategic project management skills of senior staff, Develop leadership and management skills required at a strategic level

Apprenticeships provide opportunities to gain recognised qualifications and essential skills, whilst working and earning a wage. The Apprenticeship programme offers both opportunities for existing members of staff as well as those looking to start their careers and get into the NHS.

Managers Essentials – Managers Essentials is our programme for all our Line Managers at Dudley to support their staff in a compassionate way in line with our values, behaviour framework and NHS People Promise.

Leading People at Dudley Pathway – a structure leadership pathway for development and growth, a package of training sessions designed to embed core knowledge and practice for our people leaders.

Chartered Manager Programme – a formal management qualification there is the opportunity to complete the CMI development programme. This is run in partnership with Dudley College to create an NHS specific Level 5 Apprenticeship.

1:1 Coaching – can be used for personal development, to manage change, improve work performance along with many other goals.

Inclusive Mentoring – enables people in senior positions to learn from and understand issues from the perspective of people in less senior roles from under-represented groups. At the same time, less senior people are exposed to new ideas, experiences and networking opportunities.

Mentoring – method of support where you work 1-1 with someone who has experience in an area you are looking to develop. There are opportunities to become a mentor or have a mentor.

Lets talk about wellbeing workshop  – aims to look at wellbeing at an individual level, thinking about what steps we can all take to improve our wellbeing.

Let’s talk about team wellbeing – aims to look at wellbeing at team level, understanding the impact that the workplace can have on our wellbeing and how we can support wellbeing at a local level.

Let’s be a wellbeing champion – you are passionate about wellbeing and would like to support your department to become more wellbeing focussed, there is an opportunity to become a wellbeing champion.
