What is Ridge Hill

The Ridge Hill Stroke Rehabilitation Unit aims to support patients to achieve their maximum level of independence following stroke, enabling safe, timely discharge to the most appropriate setting. This includes improving functional ability, supporting communication and cognitive recovery and preparing patients and their families for ongoing rehabilitation or care needs.

The work of the unit also plays a key role in supporting wider hospital flow by reducing length of stay, preventing avoidable complications, and ensuring patients are discharged safely and efficiently. Delivering high-quality, timely rehabilitation is therefore critical both to individual patient outcomes and to the effective functioning of the wider health system.
