Small Grants Funding - Supporting Our Communities This Winter
As winter approaches, demand on local health and care services increases — and we know that our communities play a vital role in keeping people well and connected.
The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust involvement team along with the Dudley Group NHS Charity (the local NHS Charity which is part of The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust) are launching small grants funding to support local voluntary, community, and third sector organisations in leading conversations that help us understand the choices that people make when they need help or support.

What is Small Grants Funding?
Small Grants Funding offers small grants of up to £250 to community and voluntary groups across Dudley. These microgrants enable local organisations to host meaningful engagement activities — from small workshops to informal drop-ins — where residents can share their views and experiences about accessing health and care during the winter months.
By supporting these local conversations, we can:
- Understand how people decide where to go when they need help
- Identify barriers, myths, and gaps in knowledge
- Co-design better information and support with the people who use our services

Who Can Apply?
We welcome applications from:
- Community groups, voluntary organisations, and charities
- Faith-based or cultural groups
- Small grassroots organisations that represent seldom-heard voices
To be eligible, your organisation should:
- Have a bank account in the group or organisation’s name

What Will the Funding Cover?
Microgrants can be used to cover essential costs such as:
- Venue hire
- Refreshments
- Facilitator time
- Materials or digital tools to help with engagement activities
These small investments make a big difference — enabling trusted local groups to reach people in ways that feel relevant and inclusive.

Why It Matters
By working together, we can help:
- Improve understanding of where and how to get the right care
- Support vulnerable residents before they reach crisis point

This programme reflects our collaborative approach to health — where community voices help shape local solutions.
