What not to bring

Alcohol

As alcohol may contribute to unacceptable behaviour, alcohol consumption is prohibited in the Trust’s hospitals.

Alcohol may also interfere with your treatment. If you have concerns about your use of alcohol and would like further notice or information, please ask a nurse looking after you to make a referral to our specialised team of staff.

Tobacco or tobacco products

The hospital has a Smoke Free policy. There are restrictions on smoking, so do not bring any smoking materials with you. For help with giving up smoking, contact the Dudley Stop Smoking Service on 01384 732402 or visit Smoking – Lets Get (lets-get.com).

Outdoor clothing

Some areas, for example rehabilitation, encourage the wearing of everyday clothing, instead of nightwear. In general, however, as storage is limited, please ask someone to take all your outdoor clothing home when you are admitted.

TV and radio

You will find a radio link and headset at the back of your bed. The radio can be tuned to stations such as Radio 2, Radio WM and Heart FM, as well as TV audio. There is also a TV on every ward.

If you wish to bring your own TV, radio or music player, please speak to the nurse in charge. You must bring in headphones or an earpiece so as not to disturb the other patients.
